July 27—It was announced at the July 13 school board meeting that Culpepper/Gray has been selected by the Hamilton County School Board to be the construction managers of the new Hamilton County Elementary School. Chuck Roberts, president of Culpepper (in Tallahassee) and Todd Gray, president of Gray Construction (in Trenton) were in attendance at the meeting.

Superintendent Tom Moffses said he is hoping to break ground on the project in January, 2016 and be open for business by August, 2017, if all goes as planned.

“We want to thank you for the confidence you have shown in Culpepper/Gray’s joint venture,” Roberts told the board. “We made a commitment to you in our presentation that we will work to make this a very successful project for Hamilton County. We’re there to help you legislatively any way we can. We’re available to do whatever we need to do to be sure that you get the attention that you need so this process will move as it should.”

Roberts said he is ready to work on a budget and schedule that works with the school district.

“We understand the need for the facility and we want you to know that this will be a team effort,” said Roberts.

“We are committed to y’all,” Gray told board members. “We’re only as good as our last job and we want to make sure you guys are happy when we’re done.”

The board then voted unanimously to approve Culpepper/Gray as construction managers for Hamilton County Elementary School.
