PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed when he hit an elk with a van on Interstate 25 south of Pueblo.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://goo.gl/yF9i0W ) 43-year-old Ronnie Trujillo, who was a driver for the newspaper, hit the elk and went off the highway early Monday. Trujillo, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

He is survived by his wife and five children and had been working for the paper for about two years.
