DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Land Bank Authority is moving to Wayne County’s Guardian Building which also will begin operations under a new management firm.

County Executive Warren Evans says Monday that the separate agreements will help reduce the county’s $52 million structural deficit.

The Land Bank will occupy two floors in the building starting in August. The three-year lease will bring the county about $464,000 in annual rental income.

The new management deal is expected to save the county $190,000 per year.

Gov. Rick Snyder said last week that Wayne County is in a financial emergency.

Evans had asked the state to declare a financial emergency. He wants to enter into a consent agreement with the state that will allow the county to impose health care and pension savings, if necessary.
