CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) - Police say a woman found dead in a holding cell at a suburban Cleveland jail had several medical conditions and was taken by ambulance to a clinic the night before she died because she seemed lethargic.

Police say 37-year-old Ralkina Jones of Cleveland was found dead at the Cleveland Heights jail Sunday morning. They say paramedics had taken her for medical evaluation on Saturday night, then checked her again after midnight and found her vital signs to be normal.

Police say Jones received prescription medications as instructed. They didn’t specify what medical conditions she had.

The Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County medical examiner’s office says an autopsy found no suspicious injuries. The cause of death remains under investigation.

Police say Jones had been arrested Friday after a reported altercation with an ex-spouse.
