DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - DeKalb County officials have lifted a precautionary boil water advisory that was issued over the weekend.

Officials said in a statement Monday night that the county’s roughly 700,000 residents may resume normal water use now that a boil water advisory that was issued Saturday has been lifted.

DeKalb County officials say they along with the Environmental Protection Division sampled the water Friday through Sunday to determine whether multiple drops in pressure after a main break had caused any water quality issues.

Officials say DeKalb Watershed Management sampled 20 sites Friday, 40 Saturday and 50 Sunday and all tested negative for harmful bacteria.
