NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - The Tampa Bay area remains under a flood watch after a weekend of heavy rains.

The National Weather Service reported Monday that hard-hit Pasco County could see little relief as the forecast calls for more rain. Officials say some parts of Pinellas and Pasco counties received up to 14 inches of rain from Friday to Sunday afternoon.

An evacuation was ordered for parts of Pasco County Sunday afternoon, after the Anclote River reached over 23 feet, well past the 20-foot flood stage. Flood waters are expected to recede over the next two days, but more rain could change that. A flood warning will remain in effect until at least Tuesday morning.

Residents were using boats to get around while emergency crews responded in big-wheeled rescue vehicles.
