BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Rescue crews have recovered the body of a 44-year-old Denver woman who fell 100 feet to her death on Paiute Peak northwest of Boulder over the weekend.

The Daily Camera reports (https://goo.gl/1cvlOL ) the woman and her friend were descending from the summit Sunday afternoon when the woman slipped and fell down a snow bank and into a crevasse.

The man who was with her left the scene to try to call for help, since he did not have cellphone reception.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was found dead at an elevation of 13,000 feet, just a few hundred feet below the summit.

Paiute Peak is on the western boundary of Boulder County on the Continental Divide in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.
