COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Investigators say a driver was drunk and racing another vehicle when he hit and killed a man with his car in Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reports (https://goo.gl/995y8g ) 21-year-old John Marvel was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, reckless driving and other traffic charges after the death of 22-year-old Andrew Shada early Saturday.

An arrest affidavit says Marvel failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road and struck Shada outside a home. Investigators say Marvel’s blood alcohol content was 0.133 percent at the time.

The legal limit for driving is 0.08 percent.

A phone number for Marvel could not be found Tuesday.
