BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A man who allegedly attacked people at a Boulder apartment with a knife while high on LSD is dead after being shot by police.

Police say an officer shot the man, who was naked, Monday night after a Taser failed to subdue him after confronting him in a stairwell on the way to the apartment. Police didn’t provide further details about the man’s actions at the time.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley says police were called to the apartment building after a resident called 911 to say a man who was high on LSD was acting erratically and had attacked residents with a knife.

She says a 23-year-old man was found with multiple knife-related injuries and a bite mark on his hand. He is expected to recover.

The officer is on paid leave.
