July 28—The driver of a motorcycle involved in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday evening in Aberdeen was flown to Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls for treatment.

Michael Hubert of Aberdeen sustained serious injuries after he lost control of his motorcycle and rolled into a ditch, according to Chief Deputy Tom Schmitt of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.

Schmitt said that Hubert was driving on U.S. Highway 281 North when his motorcycle went off the road on a curve just north of Wylie Park. Upon entering the ditch, the motorcycle rolled multiple times, said Schmitt. He said alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The accident was reported around 6 p.m.

A representative at Avera McKennan confirmed that Hubert is in the intensive care unit, though his condition was not available as of Monday night.
