July 28—An excessive heat warning remains in place for the metro-east Tuesday.

The high temperature will be 95 with a heat index of up to 110, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms with the best chance coming after 1 p.m.

The excessive heat warning will expire at 9 p.m. Tuesday. Then the low will drop to 79 under partly cloudy skies.

On Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms with a high of 90. It will be partly cloudy Wednesday night with a low of 66.

Skies will be sunny Thursday with a high of 87 during the day. Thursday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 66.
