July 28—Norman Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting 3:30 p.m., Tuesday inside the Administrative Services Center, 131 S. Flood Ave.

The board will go into executive session to vote on the hiring of two assistant principals, one at Irving Middle School and one at Roosevelt Elementary. In addition, the board will discuss pay and benefits for each school’s principals and assistant principals for the 2015-2016 school year. The board will also discuss its negotiation status with Professional Educators of Norman. PEN bargains working conditions, benefit and pay for teachers, and has a 50 percent membership rate among teachers in the district. Other discussions on the agenda are pay and benefits status negotiations with the Support Professionals Association of Norman for support employees, and pay and benefits for employees who are off-scale for the 2015-2016 school year.
