July 28—CORPUS CHRISTI — The City Council will take on residential roads discussion again in its regular meeting today.

In the last meeting, council members showed strong support of allowing voters to decide whether to raise taxes for a program to reconstruct residential roads.

If officials determine they want to pursue an election in November, it is likely a decision would have to be made today on direction to get it in front of the council for two votes before the Aug. 24 deadline.

Also on the agenda is a first reading for an ordinance that would further regulate payday and auto title lenders.

The meeting gets underway at 11:30 a.m. in chambers at City Hall, 1201 Leopard St.
