July 28—WINONA — A juvenile male could face criminal charges for allegedly stealing and burning a Confederate flag Monday afternoon in Winona.

The 15-year-old Winona boy told authorities that he took a Confederate flag from the back of a parked pickup truck and burned it, according to Winona Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams. The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. in a parking lot of Maplewood Townhomes, in the 1700 Block of West Wabasha Street.
