July 28—Wilkes-Barre City Council during a special meeting Monday unanimously voted on several resolutions authorizing purchases for the city.

The council approved an agreement with Wilkes-Barre based Panzitta Construction to complete a canopy upgrade to the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transportation Facility downtown. The cost of $179,500 will be paid from a federal transportation authority grant.

Members also approved several purchases using funds from the city’s Office of Community Development, including:

—Assorted fire turnout gear from the Susquehanna Fire Equipment Co. in Dewart for $35,000.

—A thermal imaging camera for $9,140, also purchased from the fire equipment company.

—Seven automated external defibrillators from Physio-Control Inc. for $25,000.
