July 28—DARWIN — A 33-year-old rural Darwin man was reportedly airlifted for injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover crash early this morning south of Darwin.

Jason Carl Schmidt was reportedly traveling southbound in a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 on Meeker County Road 14 near 180th Street when his vehicle rolled, according to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.

Schmidt was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and received what were described as significant injuries from the accident. He was transported to Hutchinson Hospital and later airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the news release.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dassel Fire and Rescue, Allina Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
