July 28—The Haunted Hotel is returning to downtown Beaumont after being in Nederland for more than a decade.

The Halloween attraction will open Sept. 25 at 447 Orleans Street, right next door to its original location at the Rosemont Hotel.

For the past 12 years, the Haunted Hotel had been located at Sports Connection on Patillo Road. An electrical fire last October caused the haunted attraction to close before Halloween.

The fire also forced Haunted Hotel owner Eric Metts to look for a new location.

Earlier this year, he purchased the old Serafino /F & M building downtown.

“After numerous meetings, long nights, and a little luck, we were able to buy a building that will allow us to grow and be a force to be reckoned with in the Haunted Attraction community,” Metts said in a Facebook post.

Beginning in late September, the Haunted Hotel will be open on weekends only. As it gets closer to Halloween, the Haunted Hotel’s doors will be open every day, Metts said.
