July 28—STONINGTON — A truck driver and his 7-year-old son died when the tractor trailer they were in struck a guardrail and a bridge abutment on I-95 Monday night, state police said

The truck had been headed north in the right lane, south of exit 91, at the time of the crash, state police said. Sergio Amilear Castellon, 31, and Sergio Giovanny Castellon, both of Council Bluffs, Iowa, were pronounced dead at the scene, they said.

The 2001 Freightliner Century truck is from H & H Transport Inc. of Omaha, Nebraska, the state police said.

The highway was closed after the crash. One lane was open to traffic by 9 a.m., said FOX CT Traffic Reporter Rachel Lutzker.

The investigation of the crash continues. Anyone who saw the collision is asked to call Trooper Timothy G. Donahue at 860-848-5033.
