July 28—The San Angelo Police Department arrested a local man on a charge of aggravated robbery Monday after receiving a report of a man robbing a vehicle and threatening the victim with a box-cutter knife.

Officers found James Casey, 54, in the lobby of the Motel 6, 4205 S. Bryant Boulevard, according to a SAPD press release.

During the investigation, police learned the victim left EZ Pawn, 2018 S. Bryant Blvd. on Saturday to see a man entering her Chevrolet Venture minivan and removing items. When the victim, a 34-year-old woman, tried to retrieve her property, the man held out the box-cutter and threatened her.

A GMC pickup truck linked to Casey, which matched the victim’s description, contained the victim’s property and a box cutter.
