July 28—6:40 a.m. update: One lane of Interstate 35 remains closed after a semi-truck caught fire early Tuesday morning, police said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire that started about 5:35 a.m. but crews are still working to remove the semi-truck from the roadway, officials said.

Authorities said drivers should expect heavy delays on Interstate 35 for the next few hours.

Earlier: The northbound lanes of Interstate 35 at Slaughter Lane are blocked after a semi-truck caught fire early Tuesday morning, police said.

About 5:45 a.m. police and firefighters responded to a call saying a vehicle was on fire, officials said.

No injuries have been reported.
