July 28—PACHECO — Contra Costa prosecutors charged a 37-year-old transient Monday with last week’s stabbing of a 7-Eleven clerk, according to a Contra Costa sheriff’s spokesman.

Aaron Goode, who is being jailed without bail, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, along with a great bodily injury enhancement, sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said.

Goode is accused of stabbing the clerk at the store on the 5800 block of Pacheco Boulevard near Center Avenue in Pacheco early Thursday morning after being told to leave. The clerk was treated at a hospital where he was soon released.

On Saturday, around 4:30 a.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested Goode near Interstate 680 and Highway 4 and he was booked into Contra Costa jail in Martinez.
