July 28—One man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car on South Congress on Monday night, according to officials.

The crash, which was reported at 9:19 p.m. shut down South Congress north of William Cannon in both directions, according to Austin police.

The man, who is in his 60s, was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.
