July 28—BRADENTON — A 44-year-old woman was found dead in a Bradenton hotel of a possible heroin overdose on Sunday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Staff at the Courtyard Marriott located at 100 Riverfront Drive in Bradenton found the body of Danelle New at 3:04 p.m. Sunday, according to a release.

It was the woman’s hotel room, and heroin and drug paraphernalia were located in the room, police said. No one else had checked into the hotel room with her.

Lt. James Racky, spokesman for the Bradenton Police Department, said family members told them New had just checked out of rehab a week earlier.

Racky said they would wait for the medical examiner’s determination on whether the death was officially caused by an overdose.
