July 28—Clay County police are looking for the person who shot and killed a 24-year-old man outside his doorway Monday morning as he left for work.

Clay County Sheriff Kevin Johnson said Trevor Dykes was leaving his home in Goose Rock to go his job at Hot Rod’s Service Center when he was shot at least twice by someone standing outside his door.

The sheriff’s department got a call about the shooting about 7:50 a.m. Monday.

Police are following leads, but no arrests have been made.

An autopsy on Dykes was to be conducted Tuesday at the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort.
