July 28—A retired four-star general who was leader of the Air Force Materiel Command has joined the board of directors of AECOM, according to the global infrastructure company.

Janet Wolfenbarger, the first four-star female general in the Air Force, will join the board Aug. 1., according to the company.

She led AFMC, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, for three years and left the high-ranking post in July after a 35-year career in the Air Force. Wolfenbarger oversaw a force of 80,000 employees and managed a $60 billion budget at AFMC.

AECOM, a corporation that designs, builds, finances and operates infrastructure, has 100,000 employees who work with clients in 150 countries. The corporation reported $19 billion in revenues in the year ending March 31, 2015, according to AECOM.
