July 28—SCHENECTADY — An 18-year-old was shot dead late Monday on a city street.

Police have yet to release the name of the teen who was shot just before 10 p.m. on Schenectady Street near Van Voast Street. Officers found the teen with a gunshot to the upper body at the scene. He was taken to Ellis Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said this morning.

At the scene early Tuesday, officers searched the ground near a white sedan where the man was shot and in a vacant lot across the street. Several evidence markers over spent shell casing could be scene near the car, in the street and in the vacant lot.

No arrests have been made.
