July 28—The search for a stolen utility trailer belonging to the East Bernstadt Fire Department continues — two days after the theft happened early Saturday morning.

The trailer was parked at the fire station when surveillance photos from the scene of the theft showed a suspect vehicle leaving with the trailer. That occurred between 12:48-1 a.m.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office describes the stolen trailer as a 6-by-16 foot red utility trailer that’s missing the front rails, a fold-down gate, with the East Bernstadt Fire Department logo sticker attached. The words “East Bernstadt Fire Department” are also painted on the trailer’s floor.

As for the vehicle that left with the trailer, it’s described as possibly a white Chevy 3500 extended cab flatbed model truck between the model years 1999 to the mid-2000s, or possibly a white Ford F350 extended cab flatbed model truck.

If you have information in regards to the suspect vehicle, or the persons involved in the theft, you’re asked to call the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-660 or (606) 878-7000. The information will be strictly confidential.

Deputy Andrew Lawson is continuing the investigation.
