July 28—A man with a gunshot wound was found in a parking lot and Sunrise police are seeking help from the public to come up with leads in the case.

According to Office Cindi McCue, police received a call Monday night that a man was passed out in a parking lot of Advanced Auto, 2320 N. University Drive. But the victim had actually been shot once and was dead at the scene.

McCue said a handgun was found near the body. Police identified the dead man as Baijnauth Ramsaroop, 38, of Sunrise. He was the father of two children and worked at the Swap Shop, police said.

Investigators are searching for a dark-colored SUV which may be involved in the incident, McCue said.

Police ask anyone with information about this case to call Sunrise Police Detective Louie Fernandez at 954-746-3541 or Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-496-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
