July 28—An 18-year-old woman was killed and three others were seriously injured in Citrus County when a Toyota 4Runner they were in failed to negotiate a turn and rolled over early Tuesday, troopers said.

The Citrus Springs woman, whose name was not released, died at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Kendal Stark, 18, of Homosassa was driving the 4Runner east on East Withlacoochee Trail west of North Natchez Loop in Dunnellon around 1:15 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a left turn in the road, troopers said.

The vehicle drove onto the south shoulder, rotated and overturned several times, troopers said.

The woman who was ejected was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.

Stark and the two other passengers Nathaniel Meeks, 18, of Lecanto and Derek Fowler, 19, of Beverly Hills sustained serious injuries, troopers said. Stark and Meeks were wearing seat belts; Fowler was not, troopers said.
