July 28—One man was shot and two others questioned following a shooting at a gas station that turned into a SWAT standoff at an apartment complex off Commander Drive in Orlando.

Orlando police were called just before 10 p.m. Monday to the RaceTrac gas station off Semoran Boulevard after reports of a shooting.

Once there, officers found one man with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police soon learned of a possible suspect, who ran toward an apartment complex off Commander Drive and might be inside a third-floor unit.

Officers said the man had several warrants for his arrest and matched the shooting suspect’s description.

However, when officers got to the apartment, police said the man refused to come out.

An Orlando Police SWAT team was called and surrounded the apartment building for about an hour.

Eventually, police said two men — one who was wanted on two felony arrest warrants and is a known gang member — were taken into custody for questioning.

Police are still talking with the men about the shooting, but said they are not looking for any more suspects.

While searching the apartment, officers said they found a pistol.

“The important thing was no other citizens were injured as a result of this incident,” police Lt. Jonathan Bigelow said in an email.

None of the men’s identities have been released.
