HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities say a loaded handgun was found in a Barboursville man’s carry-on bag at Huntington Tri-State Airport.

The Transportation Security Administration says a TSA officer staffing an X-ray machine discovered the 9mm semiautomatic gun on Monday as the bag passed along a conveyor belt at the airport’s security checkpoint. The gun was loaded with nine rounds.

Airport police confiscated the gun.

The TSA says the incident didn’t affect airport operations.
