July 28—HARTFORD — A 20-year-old man who was recently arrested for a July 18 shooting on Main Street that left a man critically injured was charged Tuesday in an April shooting where an innocent bystander also suffered critical injuries.

Police said that during their investigation into the July 18 shooting where Tequan Vail, 25, of Windsor, was shot six times, they developed information that the suspect, Deshawn Walton, 20, of Hartford, was also involved in other shootings in the Hartford area.

Walton was charged Monday with first-degree assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment for an April 29 shooting on Windsor Street where a female victim was left in critical condition after she suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and face.

Witnesses to that shooting told police that a man who goes by the name “Debo” began shooting at a group of men on the sidewalk in the area of 697 Windsor Street at approximately 6:38 p.m. on April 29 when the woman was struck.

Police said that Walton goes by the street name of “Debo.”

Walton is currently being held at the Hartford Correctional Center on a $2 million bond on charges stemming from Vail’s shooting. He was arrested for that incident on July 23. Police said that Walton is a convicted felon with five previous arrests.

Police said that the female victim in the April Windsor Street shooting is still suffering from serious injuries.
