July 28—WARRENSBURG — Patient service revenue at Western Missouri Medical Center continued to run below budget in June, with inpatient revenue down about $1 million for the month, Chief Financial Officer Terri Bradley reported Friday.

In her financial report to the board, Bradley said outpatient revenue came in higher than budget, resulting in total patient service revenue falling $875,500, or 5 percent, under budget.

Deductions from revenue were higher than budgeted, but charity and bad debt deductions were under budget, resulting in net patient service revenue of $5,407,288, 4 percent less than budget but 1 percent better than June 2014 revenue.

Other operating revenue of $82,267 brought total operating revenue for the month to $5,489,554.

Operating expenses came in at $5,534,086, about $179,400 under budget, leaving net income from operations at a negative $44,500 for the month, or a loss of less than 1 percent.

Non-operating revenue and interest expense brought the total loss to $131,092 for the month, or a negative margin of about 2.5 percent.

Halfway into the fiscal year, total operating revenue of $36,433,250 is about 2 percent over budget and 11 percent over operating revenue for the same period last year.

Total operating expenses of $36,850,582 are 3 percent over budget for the year, leaving a negative operating balance of $31,200, or a negative 0.08 percent margin.

After non-operating revenue and interest expense, revenues over expenses totaled $519,049, for a negative margin of 1.41 percent compared to a negative 1.99 percent margin in 2014.
