CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Naval Air Station Corpus Christi has lifted a boil water advisory after testing of supplies came back negative for contamination.

Military officials dropped the boil water order after results Monday no longer showed E. coli.

City officials in Corpus Christi last Thursday issued a boil water notice after E. coli contamination was confirmed in the Flour Bluff area. The city’s boil water order was lifted Saturday night when additional testing came up negative.

Military officials on Sunday reported some samples at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi tested positive for E. coli, so a boil water advisory was issued. The Navy installation does its own water testing even though the complex is supplied by the city’s system.

Experts are trying to determine the source of the contamination.
