FAIRMONT, W.Va. (AP) - Police say a Mannington man found dead in his burned home was murdered.

Marion County sheriff’s Detective Kevin Alkire tells The Times West Virginian (https://bit.ly/1IoKjVS ) that no arrests have been made.

Alkire declined to release the cause of 81-year-old Howard Russell Wright’s death. He says the investigation is ongoing.

Crews responding to a fire at Wright’s home on June 26 found him inside the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chief Deputy Ralph Wright says Wright lived alone.
