TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Police say a teen was arrested after he stole his mother’s SUV, took it for a joyride and crashed it three times in Connecticut.

It happened around 5 a.m. Monday in Torrington. The teen allegedly stole his mother’s car and crashed it into a house, fence and speed limit sign.

Police say he then crashed into another car, causing both to flip over and go up in flames.

The teen was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

Police say the mother didn’t know her son had taken the car, and reported it stolen. The motive behind the alleged theft is unclear.

No charges have been filed against the boy. Authorities are investigating the crash.
