ST. GEORGE, S.C. (AP) - A suspect has surrendered in the shooting death of another man in Dorchester County last week.

The sheriff’s office told local media outlets that 31-year-old Damon Tremaine Alston of Ladson surrendered to deputies Monday afternoon.

Alston is charged with murder in the July 20 shooting death of Benjamin Wagner of Summerville. Deputies said Wagner was found in the driver’s seat of a car, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Alston was expected to appear in court Tuesday. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
