ST. MARTIN, Miss. (AP) - Six people with gang ties have had bond set at $75,000 each after being accused of kidnapping a 30-year-old St. Martin woman and beating her for hours.

The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1D7T76K ) reports that the four men and two women appeared in Jackson County Court on Tuesday and are charged with kidnapping a woman from her home on July 24.

Sheriff’s investigator Sgt. Jeff Smith says the defendants were under the mistaken belief that the woman was a police informant. Officers found her bound and beaten about 30 hours later.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell says the woman is expected to recover from her wounds.

He says all six people arrested have ties to the Simon City Royals gang. Five are from St. Martin and one is from Vancleave.
