JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Two candidates are running in Tuesday’s Republican primary for Mississippi insurance commissioner.


Mike Chaney, 71, of Vicksburg.

Occupation: In second term as insurance commissioner. Has also operated businesses that drill for oil and distribute oil and gas.

Previous political experience: Two terms in state House and two terms in state Senate, also as a Republican.


John Mosley, 61, of Clinton.

Occupation: Owner of Clinton Body Shop, with locations in Clinton and Richland.

Previous political experience: Ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Clinton, as an independent.
