LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Engineering firm Belcan Corp. is expanding its Lexington operation and expects to create 100 jobs.

Gov. Steve Beshear’s office said in a news release that the company plans to lease additional space in the Vine Center downtown to accommodate an increased number of engineers. The company is expanding to support its new customer, Pratt & Whitney, a commercial and military aerospace gas turbine engine supplier.

Belcan opened its Lexington office in 2005 to service a growing aerospace contract with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp.

Cincinnati-based Belcan will invest $1.2 million into the expansion.
