BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A state worker in Vermont has pleaded not guilty to charges she sold heroin to buyers police believe she met in her job as a child support specialist.

Kacey Caprari, of North Adams, Massachusetts, pleaded not guilty Tuesday afternoon in a Bennington court to heroin sale and conspiracy to sell drugs.

She was released on $5,000 bail under the condition that she stays off of state property except for court appearances.

Police say 35-year-old Caprari worked at the Bennington State Office Building for six years and met buyers through her position. The deals allegedly happened near the probation and parole office.

She was taken into custody shortly after a Massachusetts woman arrested on drug charges told authorities that Caprari sold heroin.

She is due back in court on Aug. 24.
