COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs homicide detective is facing charges of having a sexual relationship with a kidnapping victim and lying to police investigators about it.

An arrest affidavit for Detective Paul Patton released Wednesday says Patton had graphic conversations with the woman using his Colorado Springs Police Department email address and cell phone.

According to the Colorado Springs Gazette (https://tinyurl.com/ncr5aqq), Patton was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempting to influence a public servant, first-degree official misconduct and false reporting to authorities. He was released from jail on a $3,000 bond.

No attorney for Patton was listed in Colorado court records.
