SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Hundreds of people attended a vigil for a 19-year-old hockey player who was gunned down outside a San Jose home.

KNTV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1DOWyda ) that the vigil took place Tuesday night at Shark’s Ice in Fremont as nearly 300 family and friends gathered to remember Chris Keil, a Santa Clara Black Hawks hockey player, who was killed Saturday night.

Police say Keil had been standing in the front of a neighbor’s home when a vehicle pulled up with two people inside. One person reportedly got out of the vehicle and then shot Keil. The suspects fled the scene.

Family friend, Sandy Furtado, says Keil’s death is a “tremendous loss.”
