TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A former state representative has joined the race for the 2nd Congressional District seat in Arizona.

Democrat Matt Heinz will face off against state Rep. Victoria Steele in a primary race in hopes of unseating incumbent Rep. Martha McSally, a Tucson Republican.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (https://bit.ly/1H3mWAd) Heinz is an emergency room physician who sought the congressional seat in 2012 but lost.

McSally was elected last year after beating incumbent Ron Barber by 167 votes.
