SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch says he’s not seeking another term after 2018, but he’s still raking in campaign cash at levels that would allow him to fend off any re-election challengers.

Campaign finance records show the Republican senator raised more than $686,000 over the past three months and has more than $1.5 million in his campaign account.

Hatch said in 2012 that he didn’t plan to run again, but late last year he said he’d consider another six-year term if he was still working on tax code legislation, a priority of his.

Hatch chief of staff Rob Porter declined to comment on the senator’s re-election plans, but told The Salt Lake Tribune (https://bit.ly/1MtSHJH) that the senator is raising money to contribute to other GOP candidates.
