OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has denied the appeals of a convicted killer.

Harry Garcia appealed his first-degree murder conviction in the 2013 stabbing death of 19-year-old Casey Wright in Oklahoma City. He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

The 31-year-old Garcia testified that he was defending his nephew during a fight when he stabbed Wright.

His appeal claimed insufficient evidence and that the jury was not properly instructed. The appeals court on Tuesday rejected those claims.
