BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) - Authorities in Maine are investigating the discovery of a body found in a river.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1IIUriz ) the body was found floating in the New Meadows River at Sawyer Park in Brunswick on Tuesday morning.

Police believe they know the man’s identity, but aren’t releasing it until they have located his family.

Police say the man is in his late 40s or early 50s.

Cmdr. Marc Hagan says there are no signs of injuries to the body, but police plan to conduct an investigation.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy.
