BOSTON (AP) - Family and friends have gathered in a Boston park to grieve for a 31-year-old woman found shot to death in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood.

A vigil was held Wednesday evening for Grisel Sanchez. Police say her body was found at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Seaver Street.

Police have not said publicly if Sanchez was targeted or an unintended victim.

Her family says the mother of three children was walking to a neighborhood store when she was shot.

City Councilor Tito Jackson tells WCVB-TV that law enforcement officials have told him they believe Sanchez was an innocent victim.

Beatrice Cole, who lives nearby, said she called police when she heard gunshots, then later found bullet holes in her own walls.

Police are continuing to investigate and ask people with information to call or text them.
