ELLISVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A second person has been arrested in an embezzlement case out of Jones County.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says in a news release that 39-year-old Stacey G. Bryant of Ellisville is charged with conspiracy to commit embezzlement. She is being held on a $5,000 bond. She was arrested Monday.

Steven McLeod was earlier charged with embezzlement of funds from a softball team program.

The sheriff’s department says Bryant allegedly knew about the fraud and was involved in it.

The 41-year-old McLeod is accused of taking $4,950 collected from a softball team he had started. Investigators say the money was to be used for uniforms, equipment, and other fees.

McLeod is being held on $7,500 bond.

It is not known if McLeod or Bryant has attorneys.
