SADDLE BROOK, N.J. (AP) - State police say a New Jersey transportation department worker was pinned under a car after he was struck on Interstate 80 in Saddle Brook.

Spokesman Capt. Stephen Jones says the accident happened in the eastbound lanes at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday.

Jones says a tow truck operator freed the worker, who was taken to a hospital with a broken leg along with the driver of the car.

No names have been released.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
